SaaS Wasn't for Me

I'm Carson and am writing in from Portland, OR and I work with business owners in making informed decisions about their risk and what others in their industry are doing to succeed.
People work with me because they want to have another member of their team and a partner that can know the landscape of their business.
In 2025 I was working for a FinTech startup in NYC and decided that SaaS wasn't for me. I was unable to build relationships the way I wanted and was unable to control my career. So we moved the family back across the country(we moved from Utah in 24') and decided this is where we would establish roots.
Being in commercial insurance has opened my eyes a lot about what it means to be a trusted advisor. With SaaS I could hide behind a product or feature, but with insurance people are trusting that YOU are going to protect their business if something happens. I've been inside more businesses and engaged with the community more than I ever have and building relationships has been the most fun I've had in a career.
I didn't even know who Marsh was or what they did before they reached out and I'm glad we made the move.
